Examples of Redirection in the Classroom: It is Virtually Possible





Virtual tutoring has become essential for students seeking personalized learning experiences, especially those living in an area lacking a certified reading specialist. While the convenience of online tutoring is undeniable, it also comes with its fair share of distractions that can hinder the learning process. Like, come on, what does redirection look like in the online classroom metaverse?


In the video, you see Reading Wranglers Sarah Mael and Joseph Mael role-play a student distracted by his environment and a strategy an instructor could use before starting the session. There are some humorous moments in this make-believe, cringe-worthy scenario.


Creating a responsive classroom, whether in person or virtually, has worked for me throughout my career. It will look different for online tutoring and need some modifications for diverse learners, but an essential element to any learning environment.
